Name and BackgroundWell, my name is Mike. I am 34 years old, have been married almost 11 years, and am the father of 1 boy and 3 girls. I grew up on a farm in South Eastern Idaho in Mink Creek. My Dad was self-employed, selling insurance and working part-time on the 600 acre farm. I was the middle of five children, with one older brother and three sisters. I went to Preston High School. Of all the people in the world to never even consider running a marathon, I figured I was one of them. I guess that is why I decided to try it. I ran my first marathon in 2009 at the age of 33. This photo is just after the event. Boy, was I tired! Education and ProfessionI went to school at Utah State University in Logan, Utah and majored in Mechanical Engineering. After graduating in 2000, my wife had just a little school left to get her Bachelor's degree, so I decided to stay in school a little longer and get an MBA. I have never regretted that decision.
